We offer tissue culture propagation services.

At SMK PLANTS, plant tissue culture is employed to micro-propagate disease-free plants. This method is highly suited for breeders and growers desiring genetic stability, fast production, and fast maturation of marketable plants.  With our Contract/Custom Propagation Service, especially useful for high demand plants, rare plants, new introductions, and site specific reclamation, you supply plant material and we propagate it exclusively for you.

Established in 1989, SMK PLANTS is a family-owned  plant propagation business.   Sandy and Mike King run the business in Billings, Montana.

Sandy King (MS, Botany) set up the tissue culture lab at the University of Delaware in 1984 where her research and publications focused on tissue culture of woody species and dual cultures with fungal disease organisms.   In 1989, her decision to start SMK PLANTS coincided with the family move to Billings, MT.

Mike King (PhD, Botany) with over 25 years of experience in research, development and sales understands both the botanical and business side of plant propagation to better serve your needs.
